044/24 News Release - Witnesses to Murder Wanted
September 17, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in locating witnesses in the murder of Christina Baca.
On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 1:08 p.m., the victim was found unresponsive in a storm drain, which is located near the University of Hawaii Faculty Housing, located at 2640 Dole Street. The victim was found to be in a state of decomposition and an autopsy revealed that she had suffered from several gunshot wounds. The female has been identified as Christina Baca and her death has been ruled a homicide.
The Honolulu Police Department believes that the incident occurred on Monday, September 9, 2024, at around 2:00 a.m. Baca was last seen wearing a yellow one-piece bathing suit and aloha print dress.

September 10, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Arson in the First Degree.
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., an unknown male was observed near the baler area in front of the Moe Happy business located on Komohana Street in the Kapolei area. Shortly after, a fire started in the same area that the male was standing at. The male then fled on a bicycle towards Opakapaka Street.

041/24 News Release - Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Wanted
August 30, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for an Attempted Kidnapping.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the 10-year-old victim was at the intersection of Maunakapu Street/Honouliuli Street when an unknown male suspect attempted to lure the victim into his vehicle. The victim was able to run away and notify his parents. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Maunakapu Street towards Kamailehope Street.

035b/24 News Release - Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted
August 28, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in identifying suspect #2 who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree that occurred in the area of North School Street.
On Friday, August 9, 2024, at approximately 3:34 p.m., the victim was about to exit the bus when Suspect #1 fired one shot from a handgun, which hit the victim in the upper-right chest. Suspect #1 then fled to an awaiting blue scooter, operated by Suspect #2, and fled west on North School Street. Suspect #1 has since been identified and arrested.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the juvenile victim was at the Kakaako Waterfront Park when an unknown female attempted to carry her away. The victim’s grandmother intervened at which time the female released the juvenile then fled the area on foot.

July 24, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for an Attempted Kidnapping.
On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., two juvenile females were standing on Puhiko Street in the Ewa Beach area when an unknown male tried to entice them into his vehicle with the promise of giving them candy. When they refused, the male tried to grab the older juvenile but was unsuccessful. The male then fled in his vehicle.

029/24 News Release - Cold Case Homicide
July 16, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance for information regarding a cold case homicide.
On September 28, 2010, at approximately 11:00 a.m., unidentified human remains were discovered by a construction crew in the Manoa area. It was determined that the skull sustained a gunshot wound and that the remains were placed there under suspicious circumstances.
A composite using the genetic markers of the skull was created by an HPD graphic artist, but it did not result in any additional leads. Remains were also sent to the FBI Laboratory in Quantico for DNA testing, and in 2023 a DNA profile was developed and the remains were tentatively identified. Further investigation revealed that the unidentified victim’s son resided in Washington State.
After a DNA reference sample was obtained and compared with the profile developed from the remains, the victim was confirmed to be William Hans Holling Jr.
Holling resided in the state of Washington and had gone through a contentious divorce. He was last seen by his family and friends in January 1985 was known to travel frequently to Australia via Honolulu.

July 13, 2024
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Sexual Assault in the First Degree.
On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 4:40 a.m., the victim was swimming at the Fort Derussy Beach with a male that she had just met. After they were finished swimming the male attempted to sexually assault the victim by using physical force but she was able to fight him off. The male then fled in an unknown direction.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the
public about a fake jewelry scam that is occurring.
There have been numerous reports and sightings of individuals approaching people over various parts of the island and asking them if they would like to purchase jewelry that appears to be authentic. The individuals are stating that they are in desperate need of cash and are willing to sacrifice the jewelry for a discounted price. Most instances involve the individuals approaching senior citizens. Please do not purchase any jewelry from strangers on the streets. Purchases should only be made through reputable dealers or stores.
